Collection of Baroque Fountains in Olomouc

Did you know that we have more than 25 fountains in Olomouc? And that seven of them are Baroque! Six of the seven fountains were already declared a National Cultural Monument in 1995. Each of these Baroque fountains has an original architectural design of the water reservoir. The impressive location of the fountains at the junction of roads and squares is reminiscent of the theatrical backdrop style design of the grand Baroque fountains they were modelled on – the Roman fountains of Gian Lorenzo Bernini.  

Hradisko Monastery

Do not let this former Premonstratensian monastery, which origins date back to the eleventh century, escape your attention. Although the monastery is currently used as a Military Hospital, regular guided tours are held to this very day in this unique building, these being on the first Saturday of every month and every working Thursday in the period from April until September. Tours are also possible outside of the set times subject to agreement.
